White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt delivers a briefing amid California ICE riots – June 11, 2025

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will deliver a press briefing this afternoon amid the chaos and organized insurrection in Minneapolis, days after a leftwing terrorist was shot by a Border Patrol agent.

Border Patrol fatally shot a man, identified as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, during a struggle on Saturday morning after the suspect pulled his gun on agents, sparking riots and further attacks on law enforcement.

Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino told reporters on Saturday that the incident occurred while federal agents were attempting to arrest Jose Huerta Chuma of Ecuador, an illegal alien who had a record of domestic assault to intentionally inflict bodily harm, disorderly conduct, and driving without a valid license.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz responded to the incident, making no mention of the gun-wielding individual obstructing law enforcement. Instead, he claimed that Minnesotans, who were rioting at the time, were “peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights,” and he declared that he’s “creating a log of evidence for the future prosecution of ICE agents and officials responsible for this.”

Anti-ICE rioters immediately began clashing with ICE and setting fires as law enforcement deployed crowd control measures following Pretti’s death. Thousands of anti-ICE rioters established an “autonomous zone” after overwhelming Minneapolis police and driving them out of the area.

Federal agents have been under siege, facing violent attacks, including one incident where a rioter bit an agent’s finger off.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump responded to the chaos on Sunday with a list of demands for Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and democratic Mayors and governors across the country.

Trump further called for Congress to “immediately pass Legislation to END Sanctuary Cities, which is the root cause of all of these problems.”

JUST IN: Trump GOES OFF – Demands Tim Walz, Jacob Frey, and EVERY Democrat Governor and Mayor to Cooperate with Federal Government Amid Minnesota Insurrection, Calls on Congress to Pass Legislation Ending Sanctuary Cities

The Trump Administration has recently placed roughly 1,500 active-duty soldiers on standby for deployment to Minnesota as President Trump weighs invoking the Insurrection Act.

Additionally, Minnesota National Guard troops have been mobilized in Minneapolis to support law enforcement.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 pm ET.
