\u201cInvestigators are reviewing body-camera videos from immigration agents in the fatal shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed to NBC News,\u201d NBC News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHomeland Security investigators have videos recorded by cameras worn by multiple agents, department spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

DHS law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault when an armed man approached Border Patrol officers, the DHS said.<\/p>\n

The armed man, identified as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti from South Minneapolis, appeared to attack<\/a> federal law enforcement agents before he was fatally shot.<\/p>\n

Pretti was armed with a handgun and had two additional full magazines.<\/p>\n

Alex Pretti reportedly did not notify law enforcement officers that he was armed.<\/p>\n

Slo-motion video posted<\/a> to social media shows Pretti appearing to grab his firearm as agents shot him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming,\u201d the DHS said. <\/p>\n

\u201cFearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene,\u201d DHS said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID\u2014this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement,\u201d the agency added. <\/p>\n
