They provided security camera footage showing the \u201cbear\u201d rummaging through the vehicle.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tgp-post-inline-1\">\n<div class=\"adcovery-postinline-01\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Further investigation revealed two additional claims filed on the same date and at the same location involving the Mercedes vehicles, each accompanied by similar video footage.<\/p>\n<p>A biologist from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife reviewed the videos and confirmed the animal was \u201cclearly a human in a bear suit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cClearly a human in a bear suit.\u201d Officials say four California insurance scammers have been arrested after dressing in bear costumes to vandalize luxury cars.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lv4LDHmXY0\">pic.twitter.com\/lv4LDHmXY0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breaking911 (@Breaking911) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Breaking911\/status\/1857183342262628476?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 14, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">4 people collected $141,839 from insurance companies by dressing up as a bear<\/p>\n<p>This might be the craziest fraud case of the year<\/p>\n<p>One of them put on a bear costume and climbed inside a Rolls Royce Ghost<\/p>\n<p>Filmed it and sent the video to their insurance company claiming a real bear\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gBF39nU73S\">pic.twitter.com\/gBF39nU73S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sweep (@0xSweep) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0xSweep\/status\/2038346678604796308?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 29, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Detectives later executed a search warrant at one of the suspects\u2019 homes and recovered the exact bear costume used in the videos, along with meat-claw shredders.<\/p>\n<p>The fraud resulted in insurance companies losing $141,839.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the three defendants were sentenced in San Bernardino County Superior Court.<\/p>\n<p>Each received a sentence of 180 days, to be served via a weekend jail program, two years of supervised probation, and orders to pay restitution.<\/p>\n<p>Zuckerman was ordered to pay $55,360; Tamrazian, $52,268; and Muradkhanyan\u2019s restitution amount is still to be determined.<\/p>\n<p>A fourth suspect, Ararat Chirkinian, 39, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in September.<\/p>\n<p>California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurance.ca.gov\/0400-news\/0100-press-releases\/2026\/release017-2026.cfm\">press release<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat may have looked unbelievable turned out to be exactly that \u2014 and now those responsible are being held accountable. My Department\u2019s investigators uncovered the facts, exposed this scam, and helped bring these defendants to justice.
