After widespread cuts in number of US troops stationed in Europe, president Donald J. Trump reversed direction, and promised to expand the number of troops stationed in Poland by 5,000 soldiers.<\/p>\n

While Prime Minister Donald Tusk is a liberal Globalist critic of Trump, the area of national defense in Poland actually falls on under the President\u2019s control.<\/p>\n

And President Karol Nawrocki is a close Trump ally.<\/p>\n

So, even though is now fashionable among Euro-Globalist EU leaders to criticize and distance themselves from the US under Trump, Poland is threading the inverse path.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpeaking later at a press conference, the defense minister said \u2018final decisions have not been made yet, but we are on the right track\u2019. Warsaw would \u2018do everything we can\u2019 to expand the American military presence, he added, saying officials were now working through the details with their U.S. counterparts.<\/em><\/p>\n

During Trump\u2019s first term in 2018, Warsaw proposed the creation of a permanent U.S. base dubbed \u2018Fort Trump\u2019, offering up to $2 billion to help fund it. While that effort fizzled, the American military footprint in Poland has steadily grown. Around 10,000 U.S. troops are now stationed in the country, alongside a permanent U.S. Army garrison and a missile defense base.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
