Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has warned that the Democrat Party is being overtaken by the far-left.<\/p>\n
His comments come after a string of Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidates scored major primary victories in New York.<\/p>\n
Speaking to\u00a0The New York Post,<\/a><\/em> Fetterman said the results vindicated his previous warning that the Democratic Party was becoming an \u201corgy of socialism.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI said months ago, I said the Democratic Party is becoming an orgy of socialism. These recent elections vindicate my description.\u201d<\/p>\n Among the biggest upsets was 32-year-old doctoral student Darializa Avila Chevalier, who defeated longtime incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat in a Democratic primary.<\/p>\n \u201cChevalier described America as a fu**ing disgrace. She posted \u2018fu** \u00a0Kamala Harris\u2019 and posted that she forgot napkins and wiped her hands on the American flag.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe wants to abolish the border, abolish prisons,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat is a deeply disturbed individual.\u201d<\/p>\n He also mocked Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner and Chevalier as the \u201cdirtbag left\u2019s new power couple,\u201d referencing Platner\u2019s controversial online posts that surfaced during his campaign.<\/p>\n Fetterman calls out Democratic Party\u2019s \u2018orgy of socialism\u2019 after primary turmoil https:\/\/t.co\/QhfbaJoeuE<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/nFjJAx9kcQ<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 New York Post (@nypost) June 27, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The socialist surge extended beyond Chevalier.<\/p>\n State Assemblywoman Claire Valdez won the Democratic primary to replace retiring Rep. Nydia Vel\u00e1zquez in New York\u2019s 7th Congressional District, while Brad Lander defeated Rep.
