Alec Baldwin reached a settlement with Halyna Hutchins\u2019 family.<\/p>\n

Baldwin shot and killed 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins and injured 48-year-old Joel Souza on the movie set of \u2018Rust\u2019 in Santa Fe, Mexico last October.<\/p>\n

Baldwin pulled the trigger on the set of \u2018Rust\u2019 \u2013\u00a0according to FBI analysis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However he blamed the producer\u2019s death on Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer and props assistant on the set of \u2018Rust.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone put a live bullet in the gun who should have known better,\u201d Baldwin said. \u201cThat was [Gutierrez Reed\u2019s] job. Her job was to look at the ammunition and put in the dummy round or the blank round, and there wasn\u2019t supposed to be any live rounds on the set.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are two people who didn\u2019t do what they were supposed to do,\u201d he added. \u201cI\u2019m not sitting there saying I want them to, you know, go to prison, or I want their lives to be hell. I don\u2019t want that, but I want everybody to know that those are the two people that are responsible for what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy didn\u2019t [Gutierrez Reed] check that bullet? Why didn\u2019t Halls obey her?\u201d Baldwin continued. \u201cWhy did he give me the gun? Why didn\u2019t he check? Why did he tell the crew [it was a cold gun]?\u201d<\/p>\n

Alec Baldwin was sued\u00a0<\/a>by Halyna Hutchins\u2019 family for wrongful death in February.<\/p>\n

Hutchins\u2019 family said Alec Baldwin never checked the gun before using it.<\/p>\n

The Hutchins family on Wednesday said they reached a settlement with Baldwin.<\/p>\n

Deadline reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC. As part of that settlement, our case will be dismissed,\u201d said Matthew Hutchins this morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe filming of Rust, which I will now executive produce, will resume with all the original principal players on board in January 2023,\u201d added Hutchins.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or Mr. Baldwin),\u201d he added, \u201cAll of us believe Halyna\u2019s death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna\u2019s final work.\u201d <\/p>\n

Rust Movie Productions, LLC, through its attorney, Melina Spadone of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, said: \u201cWe are pleased the parties came together to resolve this matter, which, subject to court approval, marks an important step forward in celebrating Halyna\u2019s life and honoring her work.\u201d <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Alwies said she is weighing charges<\/a> against Alec Baldwin and 3 others.<\/p>\n
