Woke Disney just suffered another loss.<\/p>\n

The new Disney animated movie, \u201cStrange World,\u201d opened to a disappointing $4.2 million<\/a> on Wednesday and is expected to make less than $24 million in its first five days in theaters. For a movie with an estimated $180 million in production costs, those are worryingly low returns.<\/p>\n

The movie is looking to be one of Disney\u2019s biggest flops of all time.<\/p>\n

The film scored a B CinemaScore, the lowest score ever for a Disney animated production, according<\/a> to World of Reel. Since \u201cBeauty and the Beast,\u201d every Disney animated movie has been met with A+, A, or A- grades.<\/p>\n

Strange World\u00a0<\/em>follows Ethan (voiced by Jaboukie Young-White), a young gay teenager whose identity is fully supported by both of his parents, Searcher (Jake Gyllenhaal), and Meridian (Gabrielle Union). Searcher and his family have eschewed a life of exploring in favor of becoming a farmer after Searcher\u2019s own adventurous father Jaeger (Dennis Quaid) went missing when he was a child. The family is called into action by Callisto Mal (Lucy Liu), the president of the land of Avalonia who leads them to a strange new world. There the family encounters animals and plants they\u2019ve never seen before, and one person they know all too well. Jaeger Clade, who has been missing for years.<\/p>\n

While the family is dealing with this big adventure, Ethan is dealing with his own incredibly relatable drama. He gets\u00a0tongue-tied whenever he\u2019s around his crush<\/a>, a boy named Diazo.<\/p>\n
