With another televised virtue-signaling performance fast approaching this week, Nancy Pelosi’s partisan Jan 6 committee has hired a former television network executive to “produce” Thursday’s witch hunt proceedings in a shameless attempt to turn the prime-time hearing into “must-see TV,” Axios reported Monday.
Former ABC president James Goldston will be tasked with curating “a mountain of explosive material into a captivating multimedia presentation” for Thursday’s political theater showing. The powerhouse executive ran some of the network’s most popular shows such as Good Morning America and Nightline, and he was reportedly added to the committee as an “unannounced adviser” in recent weeks.
As Axios put it, Goldston is the hack committee’s “secret adviser.”
One would assume that the so-called “mountain of explosive” evidence would speak for itself and wouldn’t need any fake production value, but, as we have seen repeatedly over the past year and change, Pelosi’s sham panel is more concerned with ignoring evidence in favor of upholding the leftist insurrection narrative, and, of course, literally engaging in theatrics.
Literally…
As if this wasn’t a mockery of Congress enough, now the committee is turning the House floor into full-on manufactured TV production as the bogus insurrection narrative continues to crumble.
As of right now, Goldston is working overtime producing the hearing as if it was a “blockbuster investigative special,” which will include pre-produced, made-for-TV video clips of witness interviews and footage from 1/6. There will also be surveillance footage from inside the Capitol that has never been released and “official White House photographs” from Jan 6 that will reportedly be shown for the first time.
Presumably, any footage of Lt. Mike Byrd murdering Ashli Babbitt in cold blood, or Capitol Hill Police beating Rosanne Boyland to death with clubs won’t be making the cut – Just like anything about the network of suspected Fed spooks – Ray Epps, NWScaffoldCommander, Etc. – who were running point in the crowd.
In other words, this is gearing up to be a highly-produced, true-crime-style Netflix documentary – and it’s no secret how one-sided those can be.
From Axios:
“…Goldston is busily producing Thursday’s 8 p.m. ET hearing as if it were a blockbuster investigative special.
He plans to make it raw enough so that skeptical journalists will find the material fresh, and chew over the disclosures in future coverage.
And he wants it to draw the eyeballs of Americans who haven’t followed the ins and outs of the Capitol riot probe.
Goldston is shaping a massive trove:
The hearing will be a mix of live witnesses and pre-produced video.
I’m told the committee has gained access to official White House photographs from Jan. 6, 2021, that have never been seen publicly.
Only a fraction of the surveillance footage from inside the Capitol — all kinds of angles were captured — has been shown.
Many of the committee’s depositions were videotaped. We’ll see clips.”
In addition to the never before shown evidence above, Pelosi’s 1/6 committee has reportedly amassed over 140,000 documents and conducted 1,000+ interviews, parts of which will be shown during Thursday’s televised performance.
It’s one thing to engage in these shameless theatrics, but it is entirely different when they are wielding federal law enforcement against law-abiding citizens for dissenting from the authoritarian Leftist ideology. Keep in mind – there are still hundreds of Americans being held unconstitutionally in the DC Gulag thanks to Pelosi and the rest of the committee’s abuses of power – and they are looking to lock more up for daring to go against the approved political narrative.
In fact, just last week, the committee sent feds to arrest and perp-walk former trump adviser Peter Navarro as he was boarding a plane. Navarro, who has executive privilege from President Trump, refused to comply with a questionable subpoena and had just filed a civil lawsuit against Nancy Pelosi before his arrest.
Coincidence? Not according to Navarro, who claimed the humiliating arrest – which could have been avoided with basic communication – was made in order to intimidate him and stop his lawsuit from moving forward.
Legal expert Alan Derschowitz lept to Navarro’s defense, calling the arrest “unconstitutional” and “dangerous to Democracy.”
Unfortunately, ‘unconstitutional and dangerous to democracy’ is par for the course in Congress right now.
