On May 16, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in England published its most recent data on deaths by vaccination status involving deaths with COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 deaths. These deaths occurred between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 in England.
For this analysis, ONS defined death as either the COVID-19 virus identified (code U07.1) or the COVID-19 virus not identified (code U07.2) is mentioned on the death certificate.
“In contrast to the definition used in the weekly deaths released, deaths where the post-COVID condition, where the acute COVID had ended before the condition immediately causing death occurred is mentioned on the death certificate, and neither of the other two COVID-19 codes are mentioned are not included, as they are likely to be the result of an infection caught a long time previously, and therefore not linked to the vaccination status of the person at the date of death. Deaths involving multisystem inflammatory syndrome associated with COVID-19 where neither COVID-19, virus identified nor COVID-19, virus not identified are mentioned are also excluded,” NSO explained.
The vaccination status was categorized based on the following:
unvaccinated
vaccinated with first dose only, less than 21 days after first vaccination
vaccinated with first dose only, at least 21 days after first vaccination
vaccinated with first and second doses, less than 21 days after second vaccination
vaccinated with first and second doses, at least 21 days but less than 6 months after second vaccination
vaccinated with first and second doses, at least 6 months after second vaccination
vaccinated with first, second and third dose and/or booster, less than 21 days after third or booster vaccination
vaccinated with first, second and third dose and/or booster, at least 21 days after third or booster vaccination
NSO also included an “Ever vaccinated” category (totals of the vaccinated population), which includes anyone who has had at least 1 dose of the vaccine, regardless of further doses.
“Spring boosters are not distinguished in this analysis,” NSO stated.
Table 3 of the analysis: Whole period age-standardized mortality rates by vaccination status for all-cause deaths, deaths involving COVID-19 and deaths not involving COVID-19, per 100,000 person-years, England, deaths occurring between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2022.
In this table, a total of 107,035 deaths were recorded by NSO comprising COVID-19, virus identified and COVID-19, virus not identified under the ‘unvaccinated’ group between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 in England.
For the ‘vaccinated,’ a total of 463,837 deaths were recorded from ‘All causes of death.’
The table below refers to the deaths involving COVID-19. Out of the 463,837 deaths in the ‘vaccinated’ group, only 31,425 died with/from COVID-19. And only 37,961 unvaccinated died with/from the COVID-19 between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022.
The table below refers to the deaths not involving COVID-19. Out of the 463,837 deaths in the ‘vaccinated’ group, a massive 432,412 died without COVID-19. NSO did not mention what is included in the non-COVID-19 deaths. With the massive number, TGP assumed it includes adverse reactions from the COVID-19 vaccines.
Table 7 of the dataset contains figures on ‘Whole period counts of all registered deaths by vaccination status by age group; for all deaths and deaths involving COVID-19, deaths occurring between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2022, England
The death totals under this table are way higher compared to table 3 of the dataset. In this table, a total of 529,570 deaths were recorded for all deaths occurring between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2022 for people who were vaccinated.
For the ‘unvaccinated’ group who died of all cause of deaths, a total of 134,386 deaths were recorded.
Here are the number of deaths per age group for ‘all causes of deaths’ who were vaccinated.
10-39 = 4,015 deaths
40-49 = 8,231 deaths
50-59 = 25,549 deaths
60-69 = 54,282 deaths
70-79 = 123,858 deaths
80-89 = 190,023 deaths
90+ = 123,612 deaths
Here are the number of deaths involving COVID-19 per age group from ‘vaccinated group’. Total deaths involving COVID-19: 35,774
10-39 = 176 deaths
40-49 = 413 deaths
50-59 = 1,270 deaths
60-69 = 3,084 deaths
70-79 = 7,616 deaths
80-89 = 14,205 deaths
90+ = 9,010 deaths
Total deaths of vaccinated without COVID-19: 493,796
