The far-left Wisconsin brewery that spent years marketing itself as a celebration of President Donald Trump’s death is watching the tap run dry.
Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad now says his Madison taproom will likely shut its doors by the end of the year after the Wisconsin Department of Revenue revoked the company’s alcohol permits, according to Fox News.
Madison station Channel 3000 first reported Bangstad’s admission that the East Washington Avenue lease expires at year’s end and that he cannot carry the rent through a winter legal fight. He owns the Minocqua building and says that location can limp through the off-season. Madison, he says, cannot.
The brewery has said the state is targeting it because of its political views.
The dispute follows state allegations that beer transported from Illinois was brought into Wisconsin without required permits and tax payments.
The brewery disputes the state’s action. Wisconsin’s Department of Revenue told Fox News that an appeal hearing is scheduled for November 18 and the revocation will not take effect until the appeals process is complete.
The controversy began in January, when the brewery posted that it would serve “free beer, all day long the day he dies,” a remark widely understood to refer to Trump.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Bangstad posted on the company’s Facebook page (his Facebook post has now been deleted) to share his outrage that the latest attempt on President Trump’s life didn’t succeed.
He even dusted off the company’s disgusting “free beer all day the day he dies” promotion, with posts reportedly lamenting “we almost got #freebeerdays” and mocking the “marksmanship” of whoever tried to take out the President of the United States.
But that’s just the surface of Bangstad’s insane liberal activities. He previously founded the Minocqua Brewing Company Super PAC and has poured millions into electing Democratic politicians, judges, and liberal causes across the state.
He also personally sued to keep Trump off the Wisconsin ballot in 2023 and 2024, filing complaints with the Wisconsin Elections Commission and dragging the case into court in a desperate attempt to disenfranchise millions of Wisconsin voters.
In June, state agents and local police inspected the brewery and seized cases of alcohol. The state said it had been discussing compliance concerns with the company and its legal counsel for months.
In July, TGP reported that Wisconsin had issued notices revoking permits for the brewery’s Minocqua and Madison locations, while the company could continue operating during its appeal.
